About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and YourCVy (yourcvy.com, “we”, “us”) for using the website and for buying a CV download. You can reach us at hello@yourcvy.com.

They apply whenever you use YourCVy. When you buy a download, the download window links to them and they become part of your purchase. This version applies from 1 October 2026 (version 2026-10-01). You can save or print this page at any time.

Consumers and businesses. A consumer is someone acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Business customers are welcome too, but the rights we describe as consumer rights, such as the statutory right of withdrawal, apply only to consumers. Our money-back guarantee applies to everyone.

If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you buy a download.

What YourCVy does

YourCVy is an online CV builder for people who already have a CV:

  • You upload your CV as a PDF or Word (.docx) file of up to 10 MB. Old .doc files aren’t supported, so save them as .docx or PDF first.
  • AI reads it into an editable draft, which you check and change in the editor.
  • You restyle it in 18 layouts and 24 colour schemes, and choose the font, text size, spacing, paper size (A4 or US Letter) and the language of the section headings (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or Portuguese).
  • You improve the wording with the AI coach.
  • You download a print-ready PDF. Every PDF includes real, selectable text that applicant tracking systems can read. Simple single-column layouts are the safest choice for online job portals; our guide to the ATS-friendly CV explains why.

You don’t need an account. We don’t keep your CV: your draft stays in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. The privacy policy explains exactly which data goes where.

Your content

Your CV is yours. You keep all rights to the content you upload or type, including any photo.

You allow us to process your content only as far as we need to in order to provide YourCVy. For example, we send it to our AI provider so that it can read your CV and answer your questions, and we use it to create your PDF in your browser. We don’t use your content for anything else, we don’t publish it and we don’t keep it.

You are responsible for your content. Make sure it is true, that you are allowed to use it (including photos and logos), and that you have permission to include other people’s personal details, such as the names and contact details of your referees.

The AI assistant

YourCVy’s AI features use Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. It reads your uploaded CV into a draft and powers the AI coach.

  • It’s an AI, not a person. We tell you so in the coach itself, in line with the transparency rules of the EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689).
  • It can make mistakes. When it reads your CV it can miss, mix up or misplace details, and its suggestions can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your situation. Check every field and every suggestion before you use it.
  • It’s told not to invent facts. The coach is instructed never to invent facts about you, such as employers, numbers or results, and to use placeholders such as [X%] for figures only you can supply. Replace them with real figures or delete them.
  • You decide. The coach only suggests. You are responsible for the final content of your CV and for everything you send to employers. Never present an achievement, figure or qualification that isn’t true.
  • It isn’t professional advice. The coach gives general help with CVs, cover letters and job applications. It doesn’t replace a careers adviser, a lawyer or an immigration expert.
  • If the AI is unavailable, we tell you clearly. We never pass off a basic reader or a general tip as an AI answer.

Our guide to improving your CV with AI shows how to get the most out of the coach, and the privacy policy explains what is sent to the AI.

Acceptable use

Please use YourCVy fairly. You must not:

  • create false or misleading documents, such as invented qualifications, employers, job titles, dates or references;
  • upload another person’s CV or personal data without their permission;
  • upload malware, or content that is illegal, hateful or harassing or that infringes someone else’s rights;
  • use bots or scripts, get around usage limits, overload, probe or attack the service, or use the AI for anything other than your own CV, cover letters and job applications;
  • try to make the AI produce harmful content or ignore its instructions;
  • copy, resell or redistribute our layouts, texts or code, for example as your own templates.

If someone breaks these rules, we may limit or block their access to protect the service and other users.

PDF download of your CV€5 once per CV, final price
  • Final price: €5 includes any VAT that applies. There is no subscription, no account and no other fee from us.
  • Launch period: during our launch period downloads can be free. When they are, the download window says so, no payment details are asked for and no payment is taken. The payment, refund and withdrawal sections below apply only to paid downloads.
  • Payment: by card or another method that our payment provider Stripe offers on its payment page, such as a digital wallet. Payment is due when you place your order. If we have given you a promotion code, you can enter it on the payment page.
  • Currency: the price is €5. Stripe may offer to charge it in your local currency instead. If so, it shows you the exact amount before you pay, including Stripe’s currency conversion fee, and you can choose to pay in euros instead. If you pay in euros with a card in another currency, your bank may charge a conversion fee.

The pricing page sums this up, and you can see every layout first in the CV templates gallery.

How the contract is made

  1. Prepare your CV. Upload your CV or start from the sample, edit the content and choose a design. All of this is free and creates no obligation.
  2. Open the download window. Click “Download PDF”. A window shows a summary of your CV (layout, colour scheme, paper size and number of pages), the price, what you get and links to these terms and our privacy policy.
  3. Go to the payment page. Click “Pay €5 and download”. You are taken to Stripe’s secure payment page, which shows the product and the final price. Nothing is charged yet.
  4. Place your order. Enter your payment details and click the pay button on Stripe’s page. This is a binding order with an obligation to pay.
  5. Contract and download. When Stripe confirms your payment, the contract is concluded. You return to YourCVy, your download starts automatically, and Stripe emails you a receipt.

Correcting mistakes. Before step 4 you can change your CV in the editor at any time, close the download window, or leave Stripe’s page with its back link without paying. On Stripe’s page you can correct your details before you click the pay button.

Language and contract text. The contract is concluded in English. We don’t store a separate copy of the contract for you, but we record which version of these terms applied to your purchase. This page always shows the current version, so save or print it if you want a copy. If we change these terms, we keep the earlier versions: email us and we’ll send you the version that applied to your purchase.

Your PDF download

Your PDF is created in your browser and saved to your device as soon as your payment is confirmed. One payment covers one CV: yours. While the tab stays open, you can keep editing it, switch to another layout or colour scheme and download it again as often as you like. A CV for someone else needs its own download. We don’t keep a copy of your CV, so we can’t send it to you again later. Keep your file safe.

You need an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, with JavaScript switched on. To open the PDF you need a PDF reader, which every modern computer and phone has.

If you have paid and the download doesn’t work, email hello@yourcvy.com with the email address you used on the payment page and the date. We will help you get your PDF or refund you.

14-day money-back guarantee

Not happy with your PDF? Email hello@yourcvy.com within 14 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full. You don’t have to give a reason.

  • Include the email address you used on the payment page and the date of purchase (or your receipt number), so that we can find your payment.
  • We refund the full amount you paid to your original payment method, at the latest within 14 days of your email. Your bank may take a few more days to show it.
  • The guarantee is voluntary and applies to every buyer, including businesses. It comes on top of your statutory rights and doesn’t limit them.

Email a refund request

Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer, you also have a statutory right of withdrawal (in the UK it is called the right to cancel). In practice it gives you the same as our money-back guarantee: a full refund if you ask within 14 days.

Withdrawal period. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded, which is the day you pay.

Your right doesn’t end when you download. Under consumer law, the right of withdrawal for digital content can end early once supply starts, but only if you expressly agree to immediate supply and confirm that you lose the right. We don’t ask you to do that, so your right of withdrawal lasts the full 14 days, even after you have downloaded the PDF.

How to withdraw

Tell us about your decision with a clear statement. The quickest way is our online withdrawal form: click “Withdraw from contract here”, enter your name, the email address you used on the payment page and the date of purchase, then click “Confirm withdrawal”. You can also email hello@yourcvy.com or use the model withdrawal form, but you don’t have to.

To meet the deadline, it is enough to send your withdrawal before the 14 days have passed. We will confirm receipt by email without undue delay, repeating what you sent us and the date and time we received it.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments we received from you without undue delay, and at the latest within 14 days of the day we are informed of your decision. We use the same means of payment you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. Either way, you won’t be charged any fees for the refund.

These rules come from the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU and, in the UK, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Your Europe has a plain-English summary of returns and the right of withdrawal.

If your PDF is faulty

Your PDF must match its description and the preview you saw: your content, in the layout, colour scheme and paper size you chose, with real, selectable text. If it doesn’t, or the file is damaged or won’t open, you have statutory rights that we cannot exclude:

  • we will fix the problem or supply a correct file, free of charge and within a reasonable time;
  • if that isn’t possible, we don’t manage it within a reasonable time or the problem is serious, you can ask for a price reduction (in the UK, up to a full refund) or, in the EU, end the contract and get a full refund;
  • if a faulty file we supplied damages your device or other digital content because we didn’t use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or compensate you.

These rights come from consumer law: in the EU from the Digital Content Directive (EU) 2019/770 as implemented in your country, and in the UK from the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Email hello@yourcvy.com with a short description of the problem. Content you entered yourself, including AI suggestions you chose to keep, isn’t a fault of the PDF.

Availability

We work to keep YourCVy running smoothly, but the free features may sometimes be slow or unavailable, for example during maintenance, after a technical problem or when our AI provider has an outage. To protect the service, the number of AI requests from one connection over a short period is limited. If the AI is unavailable when you upload a CV, a basic reader in your browser fills in the draft instead and tells you so. Please check the details carefully.

We may improve, change or remove features over time. That doesn’t affect a download you have already paid for.

Intellectual property

The website and its layouts, colour schemes, texts, images and code belong to YourCVy or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. The open-source libraries we use remain under their own licences.

Your downloaded PDF is yours to use for your own purposes: print it, email it, upload it to job portals and share it with employers. Please don’t resell or redistribute our layouts as templates.

Claude is a trademark of Anthropic, PBC. YourCVy is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Anthropic.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where the law doesn’t allow it. In particular, we are fully liable:

  • for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence;
  • for injury to life, body or health, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • under product liability law and any other mandatory law, and for your statutory rights as a consumer, including the rights for faulty digital content described above.

Otherwise, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious that it would happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when the contract was made.

We are not responsible for the outcome of your applications. Whether an employer invites or hires you depends on many things outside our control.

Governing law and disputes

These terms and any contract under them are governed by the law of the country where YourCVy is established. If you are a consumer, this choice of law doesn’t take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you usually live (Art. 6(2) of the Rome I Regulation (EC) No 593/2008; similar rules apply in the UK). You can also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

We are not obliged to take part in alternative dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body, and we don’t do so voluntarily. If something goes wrong, please email us first, and we will do our best to put it right quickly.

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest of the terms remain valid.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms, for example when we change the service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. For a purchase, the version you accepted at the time continues to apply. For the free features, a new version applies from the day it is published here.

Questions about these terms, a refund or a withdrawal? Email hello@yourcvy.com. We reply in English. To withdraw, you can also use our online withdrawal form.

Questions

Are downloads free at the moment?

During our launch period they can be. The download window always shows the current price before you do anything: either a free download during launch, or €5 with a “Pay €5 and download” button.

Can I get a refund after downloading my PDF?

Yes. Email hello@yourcvy.com within 14 days of purchase and we’ll refund you in full, even if you have already downloaded the PDF.

I paid, but my download didn’t start. What now?

Email hello@yourcvy.com with the email address you used on the payment page and the date of purchase. We will help you get your PDF or refund you.

Do I need an account?

No. You never create an account or a password. If you pay, Stripe asks for your email address so that it can send you a receipt.
